Professional Verification

This policy applies to all professionals registering on Cosmos Platform under the Services package who operate in a regulated or safety-critical field. It forms part of your binding agreement with NODE DAWN GROUP LTD (Company No. 16449681).
1. Why we verify professionals
CosmosMarket connects consumers with local businesses and professionals. Where a professional operates in a field that requires a licence, registration or certification under UK law, Node Dawn Group Ltd requires proof of that qualification before the business can be listed as verified on CosmosMarket.
This protects consumers, protects the professionals themselves, and ensures Cosmos Platform maintains the highest standards of trust and safety.
2. Who this applies to
This policy applies to any business or individual registering on the Services package whose work falls within a regulated or safety-critical category. This includes but is not limited to the following:
Must be registered with Gas Safe Register as required by the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998. Operating as a gas engineer without Gas Safe registration is illegal in the UK. Node Dawn Group Ltd will verify your Gas Safe registration number before issuing a verified badge.
Must hold a current qualification recognised by a competent person scheme such as NICEIC, NAPIT, ELECSA or equivalent. Node Dawn Group Ltd will verify scheme membership before issuing a verified badge.
Where work involves notifiable plumbing, water fittings or unvented hot water systems, registration with WaterSafe or membership of an approved scheme such as CIPHE or APHC is required. Node Dawn Group Ltd will verify membership before issuing a verified badge.
Must be registered with Ofsted as required by the Childcare Act 2006. Operating as a childminder without Ofsted registration is illegal in England. Node Dawn Group Ltd will verify your Ofsted registration number and require a current Enhanced DBS certificate before issuing a verified badge. Childminders must also confirm they hold valid public liability insurance.
Must hold a current Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate. Node Dawn Group Ltd will require sight of the DBS certificate reference and issue date before issuing a verified badge. Care workers operating through a regulated activity must also confirm registration with the relevant body.
Must be registered with a recognised body such as CIMSPA, REPs (now merged into CIMSPA) or hold a Level 3 Personal Training qualification from an accredited awarding body. Node Dawn Group Ltd will verify registration or qualification before issuing a verified badge.
Must be registered with the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) as an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) or hold a valid trainee licence (PDI). Node Dawn Group Ltd will verify your ADI registration number before issuing a verified badge.
Must hold a valid Food Hygiene certificate at Level 2 or above and where applicable be registered with their local authority Environmental Health department as required by the Food Safety Act 1990. Node Dawn Group Ltd will verify the certificate before issuing a verified badge.
3. How verification works
When registering on Cosmos Platform under the Services package, professionals in the above categories are required to upload proof of their relevant qualification, registration or certificate during onboarding.
Documents accepted include a copy of your Gas Safe card, Ofsted certificate, DBS certificate, scheme membership card, qualification certificate or registration confirmation letter from the relevant body.
All documents are reviewed manually by the Node Dawn Group Ltd team within 2 business days. You will be notified by email when your verification has been approved or if further information is required.
Until verification is approved your listing will appear on CosmosMarket without a verified badge. You will not be able to list regulated services until verification is complete.
4. The Cosmos verified badge
Once verified your CosmosMarket listing will display a Cosmos Verified badge. This badge tells consumers that Node Dawn Group Ltd has reviewed and confirmed your professional credentials.
The verified badge is specific to the qualification or registration provided. If you hold multiple qualifications you may submit verification for each. The badge will indicate the category of verification, for example Gas Safe Verified or Ofsted Registered.
5. Keeping verification up to date
Professional registrations and certifications have expiry dates. You are responsible for keeping your verification documents up to date on Cosmos Platform. Node Dawn Group Ltd will notify you by email 30 days before your verified status is due to expire based on the expiry date of the documents provided.
Failure to renew verification will result in the verified badge being removed from your listing. You may resubmit updated documents at any time.
6. DBS checks
Any professional working with children or vulnerable adults must hold a current Enhanced DBS certificate. This applies to childminders, care workers, personal trainers working with minors, and any other professional whose work brings them into contact with children or vulnerable people.
Node Dawn Group Ltd treats DBS compliance as a strict requirement. Professionals in these categories will not receive a verified badge without a valid Enhanced DBS certificate. Node Dawn Group Ltd reserves the right to request an updated DBS certificate at any time.
7. Misrepresentation
Providing false, fraudulent or expired documentation during the verification process is a serious breach of this Policy and the Acceptable Use Policy. Node Dawn Group Ltd will immediately and permanently suspend any account found to have misrepresented qualifications or certifications and will report the matter to the relevant regulatory body and where appropriate to law enforcement.
Operating in a regulated field without the required legal registration — for example working as a gas engineer without Gas Safe registration — is illegal under UK law. Node Dawn Group Ltd will report any such cases to the relevant authorities.
8. Consumer reporting
If you are a consumer and have concerns about a professional listed on CosmosMarket — for example if you believe their qualifications are invalid or have expired — please report it immediately to report@nodedawn.com. All reports are investigated promptly.
9. Liability
Node Dawn Group Ltd verifies professional credentials in good faith based on documents provided by the professional. Node Dawn Group Ltd is not liable for any work carried out by verified professionals. Consumers engaging professionals through CosmosMarket do so at their own discretion. Node Dawn Group Ltd strongly recommends consumers always check credentials independently for safety-critical work.
